Department of Human Services: Self-Sufficiency (DHS) Assists families and individuals in becoming self-sufficient while providing resources to meet their basic needs and guidance toward alternatives to public assistance. Some services include child care, employment, child support, medical assistance, and temporary cash help. Help for persons affected by family violence, assistance for emergencies, health issues, drug & alcohol treatment, transportation, and employment are offered indirectly through referral to sub-contractors.
Department of Human Services: Volunteer Services Provides a forum for agencies and community groups to share information and collaborate to best benefit clients. Recruit and dispatch volunteer drivers. We recruit volunteers to meet the varied needs of our DHS clients.

Domestic Violence Unit Handles all family violence cases for prosecution in Malheur County. This includes domestic violence, physical child abuse, and sexual child abuse. Referral to services for these crimes, information on prosecution of cases.
Early Intervention Program Screening and evaluation for children at risk of developmental delay and services for children birth to five years of age with significant delays in the areas of cognitive, physical, vision and hearing, speech and language, self-help and social skills.
Eastern Oregon Center for Independent Living (EOCI) EOCIL is a disability resource and advocacy center that provides an array of services for people with disabilities or seniors. These services are designed to empower clients to improve the quality of their lives and promote full access to society. Emergency Assistance Emergency Assistance is provided to area residents and transients through vouchers at the police station. Funds provide for one night's room, gas vouchers, clothing and food vouchers. Program is administered by the Ontario Police Department when funds are available.

Ore-Ida Soccer Club Children who are unable to pay fees must have a sponsor approved by club board. Age groups for soccer teams--12-19 years. 2 half seasons: fall and spring.
Oregon Child Development Coalition (OCDC) OCDC offers Head Start services to low-income migrant and seasonal farm worker children and families. We provide a comprehensive bi-lingual, developmentally appropriate educational curriculum to children ages 6 weeks to school age. In addition, we provide a full slate of health services that includes nutrition, disabilities, and mental health. With the assistance of our competent Family Service staff, we strive to fulfill our mission which is to empower the families in our program to become self-sufficient.
Oregon Human Development Corporation (OHDC) The purpose of the farmworker employment and training program is to provide job training, employment opportunities and other services for migrant and seasonal farmworkers. Training opportunities in general education areas such as life skills, ESL, basic education, and GED. Some of the services offered are resource referral program, energy education, farm labor information bulletin "Voice of the Fields," commercial driver's license.
Oregon Law Center Provides free legal services to low-income individuals and families in Baker, Grant, Harney and Malheur Counties in the area of civil law.
Oregon State University Extension Service (OSU) Provides off campus university based educational information in the local area to families, youth, and farmers.
Oregon Telecommunication Relay Service Provides relay services to enable deaf, hard of hearing, and speech impaired callers access to voice callers. We also have a Spanish Voice/TTY line for speech and hearing impaired callers Spanish to Spanish phone interpretation.
Oregon Youth Authority (OYA) Supervise youth offenders who have been committed to OYA custody by the courts. These are very high risk youth who are given strict supervision.
OSU Extension, 4H After school 4-H program for youth grades 3-6 at Nyssa Public Library. This program targets life skill development through hands-on activities. Other 4-H programs throughout the county are led by adult volunteers open to all youth K-12 and are also targeting life skill development.
Outstationed Eligibility Worker Assistance in filling out the Oregon Health Plan application and mailing it to the state. Referrals to local agencies. Able to obtain OHP application at location.

Assistance with maternity and baby clothing and baby furnishings through Earn While You Learn Program. Post-abortion education, counseling, and support.

Sexual Trauma Abuse Response (STAR Center) The STAR Center serves as our community child advocacy and sexual trauma response center for Malheur, Payette, and other surrounding Counties. Provides a child and family friendly environment in which to conduct complete medical examinations and forensic interviews for victims of suspected child abuse and victims (both children and adults) of sexual assault. Treasure Valley Community College BizCenter (SBDC) Provides assistance and free counseling service to both new and existing small businesses in the tri-county area. The center has a full library of small business resources available to the public, free confidential one-on-one counseling in both English and Spanish, assistance in business plan and loan package development, marketing plan assistance and feasibility studies.
